FreightCenter Kick-Starts 2nd Annual Volunteer Program and Donation Center

Employees donate food, time and toys for Feeding America, RAP House, Toys for Tots and more

FreightCenter.com, a Trinity based shipping services provider, is taking its charitable giving to a new level this year.  Its focus on community service is an example of both corporate responsibility and individual duty to serve those in need.  Every year, employees volunteer to serve local organizations, including Toys for Tots West Pasco, Feeding America, SPCA Suncoast, Runaway Alternatives Project (RAP) House and many more.

Staff will contribute in a variety of ways from sorting toys to feeding and cooking for families and youth from November throughout January.  Employee volunteer efforts are supported by FreightCenter as part of their 'Cash for Caring' program.  FreightCenter pays employees an hourly base for each hour spent helping local organizations in the community.  "I really look forward to this program every year," said Erin Jorjakis , Account Manager at FreightCenter. "I get the chance to volunteer for an organization I really care about and I'm supported by my workplace, it's really an amazing opportunity."

During the holiday season, FreightCenter becomes a workforce that tackles more than just day-to-day operations.  The company pledges to donate 250lbs of  food to Feeding America by the Thanksgiving holiday.  FreightCenter has also signed up to be a Toys for Tots drop off  location.  Its 120 plus employees donated a truckload of toys last year, and they're hoping to tip the scale again.

"These local organizations could really use our help and this is a great time of the year to give back," said Matthew Brosious, CEO and Co-Founder of FreightCenter.  "When you get an opportunity to give a family's 5-year-old a new bike for Christmas, it's more rewarding than you could imagine."

During the next month, the community is encouraged to drop by its corporate headquarters located at 2049 Welbilt Blvd in Trinity to donate an unwrapped toy or food that will go to local families in need.
