The Many Reasons Students and Alumni at Clarion University Should Sign Up for the PASCU Newsletter

It is our mission at the Pennsylvania Association of State Colleges and Universities to ensure that the statutory purpose of public higher education in the State of Pennsylvania as specified by Act 188 of 1982 is preserved indefinitely and delivered in full. We strive to ensure that high quality education at the lowest possible cost to students is delivered with help through education and advocacy and reaching out to students, parents, alumni, faculty and staff, elected and appointed officials as well as the general public.

This is why we are reaching out to the students and alumni and faculty and staff of Clarion University in Pennsylvania to sign up for the PASCU newsletter. We want to promote your legal rights, collect, analyze and disseminate data and information on public higher education in Pennsylvania for all of its many stakeholders, with the goal of fostering open discussion, civil debate and effective public policy.

We function as a non-partisan association of citizens and are committed to preserving the historic purpose of public higher in Pennsylvania. We consider it a success if individual students, communities and the society at large are enriched in perpetuity. Another objective is to launch and maintain a tireless and effective education campaign to inform PASSHE students, alumni, donors and the general public of the drastic changes to have occurred to public higher education since the creation of the PASSHE system of universities by ACT 188 of 1982.

We are reaching out to you, the students, parents, donors and especially the alumni of Clarion University to sign up for the PASCU newsletter and to make local and statewide elected officials and candidates for office aware that they support the mission, goals and objectives of PASCU. We request that you ask your elected officials and candidates to support our mission and goals because we believe that they will do a better job than the current system that is in place.

When students, alumni, faculty and staff and the general public sign up for the PASCU newsletter, we will provide all the information that they need to support our goals and objectives. We want to engage in direct advocacy, to the degree permitted by law, by lobbying both the elected officials in the Legislative and Executive branches of Pennsylvania government, as well as candidates for such elected office. Please sign up for the PASCU newsletter to learn about, and support, PASCU’s mission, goals, and objectives.
