SmartTOP Add-On Convertible Top Controller for Ferrari California Available Shortly

The new SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller made by Mods4cars will be available shortly for the Ferrari California. The add-on module allows one-touch operation from the console switch as well as remote control of the top from afar using the original key fob.

Aftermarket Automotive Electronics Specialist Mods4cars just announced availability of a new product, the SmartTOP Controller for Ferrari California, slated for release in November of 2015. “We are happy to announce that very soon Ferrari California owners will get to enjoy our much more convenient top operation.” says PR-Manager Sven Tornow.

The convertible top can be opened or closed via one-touch operation from the console switch. A quick tap is enough to start the automatic top open or close process. It is no longer necessary to hold down the switch for the entire time.

Additionally the SmartTOP module allows owners to use the original key fob remote to open or close the top. While still approaching the vehicle, the top can already be lowered. The SmartTOP customer gets in, starts the engine and can start driving with the top already down. It is of course also possible to close the top of the parked car form a distance at the first sign of impending rainfall. No modifications are necessary to the keys or receiver system.

The SmartTOP module also comes with a few bonus features for added convenience: The windows can be lowered or raised by remote and the rear windows can be programmed to raise or stay down after opening the top. An extended mode can be activated which allows starting or stopping of the engine during an ongoing top operation. The entire module can be temporarily disabled while retaining all other user settings for when it is re-enabled later.

Each SmartTOP module can be programmed according to individual taste. An integrated USB port allows connecting a Mac or PC which provides a quick and easy way to configure the settings or update the module firmware. Support software as well as firmware updates are available online, free of charge.

The installation of the kit is straight forward and simple. A plug-and-play wiring harness is part of the kit. It quickly connects the module with the vehicle electronics using perfect fit OEM connectors. “Installation is as easy and connecting a few plugs.” Sven Tornow demonstrates. No wires need to be cut or spliced; the kit can be removed at any time without leaving any damage or trace.

SmartTOP Convertible Top Controller kits are already available for the Ferrari 360 and F430 Spider. The new kit for Ferrari California will be available this November for 249 Euros + tax.

About Mods4cars:
Mods4cars was founded in 2002 with the idea to add a highly demanded feature to the otherwise almost perfect Porsche Boxster: Comfort One-Touch roof operation while driving at slow speeds. The resulting product offered not only that, but also allowed quick and easy installation by just swapping out a relay box, thus leaving no traces and no permanent changes on the vehicle. The first SmartTOP roof controller was born.

The success of their first products in Germany and Europe prompted them in late 2004 to move operations to the USA, to be able to serve the American market as well as all other English speaking countries such as Australia, UK and South Africa from one central location. Their business has grown to a full-fledged international corporation with an office in Las Vegas and a full line of innovative products as well as distributors and installation partners all over the globe.

Being highly specialized in the development and distribution of aftermarket roof- and comfort controllers since 2002 allows them to offer an unsurpassed level of competence and product quality. Their main goal is optimization of each individual product to a maximum in compatibility, usability and intuitive operation. They put greatest effort into development and quality checks of all their products to achieve this goal and meet all expectations of their customers.

The extraordinary success of their products is also based on the great communication with their customers, which usually already starts for each new product during the development and prototyping phase.
