For teens in California, obtaining a driver’s license just became easier. Online Driving University now offers students a fun way to fulfill their 30- hours of driver education that is required by the state of California with their new online drivers ed program called Hit the Road.
Students can learn about sharing the road, control, safety, parallel parking, turning, changing lanes, important signs and more though their online drivers ed classes in a new, fun way.
“Learning to drive shouldn’t be boring,” said Justin Pruskowski, the Chief Technology Officer at Online Driving University. “Our virtual road trip takes you on a cross-country odyssey from California to Vermont, where you’ll make stops along the way and learn the fundamentals of driving and fun facts about places you can only get to by car.”
Hit the Road, was developed by an experienced team of instructors and writers who have already taught more than 10,000 teenagers to drive safely. First-time drivers work through 10 modules, each divided into six sections, which they complete in any order they wish. The modules represent different legs of a coast-to-coast road trip.
“We want to make safe driving entertaining and engaging for teens,” Pruskowski said. “Teenagers have a short attention span and that’s why we take something like parallel parking and make it interesting by teaching you how to do it while cruising through downtown Miami.
After a student completes Hit the Road, they are issued a certificate of completion (DL400c) by The Driver Training Group. For states other than California, this online program is intended as a supplemental learning tool and will not satisfy any state driver education requirements. Online Driving University will continue to come up with new ways to help make sure the roads stay safe.
