At Delray Recovery Center, we believe that everyone suffering from addiction and alcoholism deserves the opportunity to regain health and well being. Our integrative treatment program, based on a five phase “step-down model”, provides a comprehensive continuum of care. The first phase is the most structured and intensive; and each phase thereafter offers more freedom. Each individual moves at his or her own speed through the different levels of the treatment process.
Detoxification, the removal of all traces of the substance from the body, can trigger cravings as well as side effects. For this reason, detoxification is not only the most structured and intense treatment level, but it is also medically supervised. Delray Recovery Center offers a holistic approach to detoxification, targeting the physical and psychological issues associated with the addiction.
Partial Hospitalization fits into the continuum of drug and alcohol addiction treatment as the option that combines the best facets of inpatient care (strict criteria and intensive care) and outpatient care (schedule flexibility and lower costs). Patients who represent no imminent danger to themselves or others may be admitted to this special program, providing them the intensive clinical treatments they need without the expense of hospitalization. This phase involves working with the clinical team comprised of the medical director, psychiatrists, and therapists to create an individualized plan of treatment. The treatment remains highly structured and the duration may run 2-3 weeks depending on the needs of each individual. (May be combined with Phase III, Inpatient Residential Treatment)
Once the individual is comfortable with the treatment plan, he or she transitions to the Residential Inpatient phase. Typically, individuals work through the structured treatment plan, targeting the physical, psychological, and emotional issues associated with addiction. This phase typically lasts at least 90 days. (May be combined with Phase II, Partial Hospitalization)
After completing the Residential Inpatient phase, the individual transitions to intensive outpatient treatment. This phase involves a variety of therapeutic programs and activities including life skills workshops, group and individual therapy, tai chi, art therapy, and supervised outdoor excursions. This phase typically lasts 30 days.
Sober living, the last of the five phases, gives individuals the freedom to focus on mind, body and spirit with minimal structure. Individuals maintain and build upon the foundation they built in treatment as well as deal with challenges faced in recovery while transitioning back to society. As part of their personalized after-care plan, the individual may continue group therapy several times a week and meet with their therapist on a regular basis. The duration of sober living is unique to each individual and Delray Recovery Center welcomes individuals to continue in sober living until they are confident in their newly attained life skills and ready to fully transition back to society.
The Delray Recovery Center
approach is to evaluate, understand, and treat each person on an individual
basis. As part of this individualized approach, we believe that each person
should move through the program at their own speed. Rather than pushing
individuals through a time-defined program, we are more interested in
understanding the attitudinal and behavioral changes along the journey to
determine ability to move through each phase.
We believe that allowing the individual the time to fully achieve goals in each
phase strengthens and deepens the absorption of these new attitudes and
behaviors, encourages reinforcement in a stable and safe environment, and
provides a better diagnosis post-acute withdrawal of underlying conditions
including anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorders. Individuals are welcome
to stay even after having completed the program, allowing each person time to
develop confidence in their sobriety and relapse prevention techniques needed
for the transition from rehab to daily life in society.
