Sinead O’Connor Enters Treatment For Depression

Sinead O’Connor’s drama continues this week with the 45-year-old entering treatment for depression. O’Connor announced the news Tuesday on Twitter.

"Gonna be off radar for few weeks. But will be back. Worry not. I'm going to hospital. Treatment for depression,” O’Connor tweeted.

“Not at all well. But they will put me back together quick,” she wrote.

“I be me again in 2 weeks they say. Don't want anyone worrying. Should only worry if a depressed person DOESN'T go hospital. All will be well,” she added.

O’Connor’s hospitalization comes a week after she announced she was splitting from new husband Barry Herridge for the second time in less than four weeks. "Certain sections of our media are pure evil," she wrote in a blog post last Friday. "These people, along with others caused enormous damage deliberately and maliciously to my innocent flower of a husband, purely because he was with me.”

"It is now over and I hope the media will kindly leave the poor man alone to get on with his life," O’Connor wrote, adding that she will “never again associate myself romantically with anyone.”

O’Connor and Herridge wed in Las Vegas on December 8. They separated 16 days later. "Within 3 hours of the ceremony being over the marriage was kyboshed by the behavior of certain people in my husband's life. And also by a bit of a wild ride i took us on looking for a bit of a smoke of weed for me wedding night as I don't drink," O’Conner explained at the time. "My husband was enormously wounded and very badly effected by that experience and also by the attitude of those close to him toward our marriage. It became apparent to me that if he were to stay with me he would be losing too much to bear."
