A two car accident Tuesday evening in Elk Grove caused two fatalities and injury to another.
The accident, which occurred shortly after 6pm on Kammerer Rd. near McMillan Rd., involved a Mustang carrying two passengers and a Ford Focus with one passenger.
Police say that the driver of the Mustang, Ashley Simpson, 21, lost control of her vehicle which was traveling westbound. She went into the eastbound lane and struck a Ford Focus. The impact of the crash pushed the Mustang into a roadside ditch, partially ejecting Simpson and fatally injuring both occupants.
The other occupant of the Mustang has been identified as Christopher Ragosa, 34. The driver of the Ford Focus was taken to the hospital, but his condition is unknown, but not considered life-threatening.
Police are trying to determine why Simpson lost control of the vehicle and whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
Numerous traffic accidents are caused by the negligence on the part of the driver. When police determine that someone’s actions caused injury to others, the victims and their accident attorney will be able to seek compensation from the careless party.
The people who are injured in a collision often accumulate costly medical bills and deserve to recover these costs; an accident lawyer makes this possible. With an accident attorney fighting by their side an accident victim can rest knowing they will be justly compensated for their pain and suffering.
