Nick Cannon is excited and thankful to be back in action following a health scare. In a video posted on his website Wednesday, the American’s Got Talent host revealed bad decisions about taking care of his body is ultimately what led to his mild kidney failure last month.
"I did have some major issues with my kidneys, along with some other stuff. But really I had just overworked my body. The doctors had to reboot my entire immune system, and I'm working through that now,” he explained. "I feel like I'm 100 percent. A couple more procedures and things to go, but I'll be fine."
"I appreciate all the love, all the concern, all the letters and emails and texts, people sending me flowers and stuff," Cannon, 31, added.
Cannon’s wife Mariah Carey first revealed his condition on Twitter and in a blog post on her official website on January 4. “Please pray for Nick as he’s fighting to recover from a mild kidney failure,” she tweeted.
“This is us in the hospital - role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are,” Carey wrote on her website. “We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful.”
Cannon and Carey were married in April 2008 and welcomed twins Moroccan and Monroe last April.
