Ryan Seacrest Teams With Mark Cuban To Launch Cable Network

Ryan Seacrest is about to add another title to his lengthy resume. The American Idol host, along with his partners AEG and Creative Artists Agency, is teaming up with Mark Cuban to re-launch the billionaire’s cable network HDnet. The network will be renamed AXS TV and will focus on live, behind-the-scenes coverage of lifestyle and entertainment events such as concerts and awards shows.

"We've been diligently working with our partners AEG and CAA to strategize and explore how we could deliver quality live entertainment and lifestyle programming to a large audience. HDNet is the perfect partner to help us translate our vision into a reality, giving us an instant reach into 35 million homes when we rebrand the channel and launch AXS TV,” Seacrest in a statement Wednesday.

Seacrest, who hosts E! News and a Los Angeles radio show, reportedly does not plan to serve as an on-air personality for any of AXS TV’s programs, but his Ryan Seacrest Productions will have a hand in producing shows for the network. HDnet will change to AXS TV this summer.
