John Kuester new Pistons Coach

The Detroit Pistons are expected to hire Cleveland Cavaliers assistant coach John Kuester today Tuesday July 7, 2009 according to NBA coaching sources.  John Kuester recently became the Pistons top choice when Avery Johnson broke the contract after more than two days of negotiating.  Sources also revealed that the Detroit Pistons paid Flip Sanders and Michael Curry last season.  They still owe Michael Curry an estimated $5 million over the next two seasons.

The Pistons where only prepared to extend a two-year deal to Avery Johnson.  Many speculate that Johnson wanted no less than a four contract.  “I looked at it, I was interested in it, but I was only interested in it if we could agree on a vision for the team going forward,” Johnson said.
