Maryland’s assistant coach Dalonte Hill was arrested for DUI and will not be on the bench for the Terps’ next two games.
The University would not state where or when the Hill got his DUI but are conducting an investigation.
News station WUSA9 did release the details of Hill’s arrest.
Hill was pulled over around 2 am on Thursday morning because he failed to stay in one lane and was driving erratically.
When police pulled Hill over they detected the odor of alcohol and he appeared to be intoxicated after he got out of his vehicle. Hill refused to submit to a field sobriety test and a breathalyzer.
Often times a DUI attorney will suggest that the accused not submit to a breathalyzer. In some states that means you will automatically lose your license for a year, but it can also prevent you from being charged with a DUI. However, Hill was not so fortunate.
This is Hill’s second DUI citation. He was charged with a DUI when he was coaching in Kansas City in 2008.
One or more DUI charges can seriously affect a person’s future, by jeopardizing your job and taking away driving privileges. By retaining a DUI lawyer you can minimize the impact this will have on your life.
If you or anyone you know is facing a DUI, a DUI attorney should be contacted immediately so they can begin working on your case.
