Actor and comedian Tracy Morgan collapsed at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend and was rushed to a Utah hospital for treatment. Morgan remains hospitalized in Park City for a “combination of exhaustion and altitude,” according to his rep.
Witnesses told the Hollywood Reporter the 30 Rock actor was “was acting extremely inebriated, yelling and falling onto the ground” shortly after accepting the Spotlight Initiative Award at the Creative Coalition Spotlight Awards dinner on Sunday. It was after he was allegedly escorted outside the building by security that he fell unconscious. An ambulance was called to the scene and paramedics transported Morgan, 43, to the hospital. The hospital released a statement saying no drugs or alcohol were detected in Morgan’s system.
The actor’s rep also denied reports he was intoxicated. “Any reports of Tracy consuming alcohol are 100% false,” the rep says.
"He is with his fiancée [Megan Wallover] and grateful to the Park City Medical Center for their care,” the rep adds.
Morgan has a history of health problems. He was diagnosed with diabetes in 2006 and underwent a kidney transplant in December 2010.
