Terrell Owens Attempted Suicide According to Police Report

Terrell Owens was rushed to an emergency room Tuesday night after an apparent suicide attempt.

According to police reports Owens, a star receiver for the Dallas Cowboys, revealed to a friend “that he was depressed.”

Late Tuesday evening a woman called police saying that Owens had attempted suicide by ingesting a large amount of pain medication pills he had been prescribed for his fractured hand. Even after paramedics arrived at the scene Owens was observed placing two more pills into his mouth.

Upon arriving at Baylor Medical Center Owens was treated and released Wednesday morning.  His publicist, Kim Etheridge, told reporters “this is not serious.” While another source has said that Owens had suffered an adverse reaction to the medication he was prescribed.

Owens has not spoken with reporters about the incident and nothing has been revealed about his status with the Cowboys. The team faces the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
