ABC has confirmed Emily Maynard, the single mom who was engaged to Brad Womack on The Bachelor last March, will look for love again on The Bachelorette.
“It’s official @EmilyMaynard is our #Bachelorette I couldn’t be more excited!” host Chris Harrison Tweeted.
The network also released a statement saying Maynard hopes to find a man “who makes her laugh, doesn’t take himself too seriously and can be her best friend.”
"Emily feels incredibly grateful to have found her first love when she was very young, and despite not having dated a lot, knows what it's like to be truly in love. In the past seven years, she has been looking for someone with the same spark she has for life, and she believes that she will find her soul mate on The Bachelorette,” ABC added.
The network has not released details on filming locations for Maynard’s season. Insiders claim production will move to her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina so she can be with her 5-year-old daughter Ricki.
Before appearing on The Bachelor, Maynard was engaged to NASCAR driver Ricky Hendrick. Hendrick died in a plane crash in 2004 just days before Maynard discovered she was pregnant with their daughter.
