At least 10 people were killed Tuesday in the latest series of explosions in Baghdad. Iraqi officials say at least 5 bombs exploded in three areas of the city. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
The first two explosions occurred around 7 a.m. in Sadr City, an area located in east Baghdad. Police say the first explosion occurred near a group of day laborers gathered in al-Mudhafar Square. The second bomb detonated near a bakery. The explosions accounted for 7 of the 10 causalities. At least 35 others were wounded.
The third attack happened in the southwestern neighborhood of al-Hurriya. Police say one person died and 13 others were wounded when the car bomb detonated on a busy road. Shortly after that attack, a roadside bomb exploded in northwest Baghdad. No one was killed, but at least 6 people suffered injuries. The fifth explosion also occurred in northwest Baghdad. Police say a car bomb exploded near two schools. At least 2 people were killed and 18 others were wounded.
