Prior to the recession, his Mirax group was behind projects like the 1,660 foot Federation Tower, which would have been Europe’s tallest building. It is now nothing more than a half built monument to his incompetence . In 2011 after the dissolution of Mirax he declared “I am no longer a businessman”. Polonsky once promised to eat his tie on national television if his companies holdings didn’t rise by 25%, and in May of 2011 he did.

Not your typical corporate businessman::  He reportedly paid a Moscow morgue to let him spend a day in a coffin surrounded by corpses.
