Newly single Demi Moore has entered treatment for exhaustion after being transported to a hospital by ambulance Monday night. The actress is seeking help with improving her “overall health,” according to her rep.
"Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends,” Moore’s rep said in a statement.
TMZ reports Moore was hospitalized after a 911 call was placed from her Los Angeles home shortly before 11 p.m. Monday. Paramedics reportedly treated her at the scene for about 30 minutes before taking her to a nearby hospital. It is unclear what prompted the 911 call.
Meanwhile, Moore’s rep has confirmed the 49-year-old has dropped out of the upcoming Linda Lovelace biopic, Lovelace, in which she was supposed to play Gloria Steinem opposite Amanda Seyfried as the popular 70s porn star.
Moore’s health problems come two month after she announced her split from her husband of 6 years, Ashton Kutcher. "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life,” she said at the time. “This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."
Kutcher, 33, added, "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi. Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."
