One worker is killed and three injured after truck crashes into road maintenance work zone

One worker was killed and two other were injured when a tractor trailer drifted into their work zone.

The accident happened Tuesday morning on the Ohio turnpike. Two westbound lanes of the turnpike were closed while four workers were repairing a bridge.

The driver of a tractor trailer truck drifted into the work zone. One of the workers in charge of monitoring traffic approach sounded off a warning but the workers were not able to get out of the path of the oncoming vehicle. The truck struck three workers, fatally injuring one and causing critical injury to two other workers.

Three turnpike vehicles were also damaged. The truck was carrying a corrosive material that did not leak.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

Truck accidents are caused by a number of reasons, which include driver exhaustion or distraction and speed. When one of these drivers has been negligent and caused injury to others a truck accident attorney will work to make certain they are fairly compensated.

The people who are injured can accumulate costly medical bills, in some cases they can be permanently disabled due to no fault of their own and unable to pay their bills. A truck accident lawyer will fight to keep these costs from coming out of the pockets of the victims. The skills of a truck accident attorney make them crucial to these cases.
