Nutrition and Drugs

What does using drugs do to your body?  Drugs are poison.  It doesn’t matter if you get them from your doctor or from your friends.  Drugs change and kill when they are in your body.  Granted we do take some drugs and we consider them helpful because they are good for our occasional headache or our blood pressure.  That drug is changing something in your body.  Today let’s just talk about the illegal drugs that we partake in just to have fun.  They very definitely change your body.  Let’s just say you had some with your friends this past holiday season just to join in the party.  The body has to work hard to get rid of these drugs in your body.  It burns up a huge amount of general nutrition and vitamin reserves in its attempt to metabolize the drugs in the body.  While you were taking these drugs last weekend you didn’t even notice how hard your body was working.  But like always the fun comes to an end and then you feel the effect the day after; like a hangover.

Let’s just say you would decide to continue to use these drugs you would be creating a severe nutritional deficiency.  That my friends can lead to long term health issues.  There are some common drug induced illnesses like lack of energy, depression, lethargy, colds, influenzas we could go on with this list.  There are some people who use drugs for a very long time and they have diseases of the liver, cancer, heart attacks, stroke and many other serious illnesses.  Most times we get ill and then it requires taking some more drugs.  As the doctor has given them to us we think they are alright to take.  These drugs can help you in the short term but if you rely on them for a long period they will affect you as well.  Long term drug rehabs do best if they address nutritional problems in addition to any other concerns.

In case you have not taken into account what you were doing to your body know this, it does catch up with you.  Even if you are doing it only for fun on the weekends.  It can lead to more serious things and most of the time people do not associate the fun drugs as having caused what their bodies have come up with in their older years.
