There are many theories out there that explain why people use and abuse drugs.
One theory is that a person has a disease and it was inherited so that makes him permanently ill because of his genetics and it doesn’t matter if he stays sober for years.
Another idea is that when a person is addicted he has a double problem because he is physically and mentally dependent on chemicals and it is believed that it is made worse by some pre-existing mental disorder.
Still another idea is that because a person is chemically dependent that will lead to having a permanent chemical imbalance and that he must get psychiatric help to treat his neurological system. Drug abuse organizations then have to help with this problem.
It could be that this person is just having some sort of confusion in his life. For example a young woman could be just starting college and she has a goal of doing well and passing with high grades scores. At the same time all of her friends are out here having parties and enjoying the college life. She would like to also but she really can’t find the time to do both. So she has now a counter intention to what she set out as a goal; so she gets confused. These two desires can become strong enough to cause her a great deal of emotional confusion and discomfort. In today’s world all want a readymade solution to get rid of these confusion and anxieties so they turn to drugs and alcohol to solve their problems. If there are some drugs easily available then she may just start her career as a drug user. If she is really having much discomfort she will want to relieve it; so now this drug will be very valuable to her. Now we have the makings of an addict. She will not want to be called that but if she can’t solve her problems and drugs continues to be her only help that is what she will be.
