FBI rolls out plans to monitor social networks

Social media is huge with billions of users worldwide. It is also one of the many tools utilized in legal internet marketing because of its far reach. Now, not only will your friends be using social media to find out what is going on with you, but the FBI will as well.

The FBI has stated in a press releaser on January 19th that they will monitor social media site like Facebook and Twitter. They have been quiet about why they are planning on monitoring these sites but it may help them spot crises and possibly prevent them.

The document stated that the FBI would be looking for “publically available” information on these sites by searching for keywords such as terrorism, surveillance operations, online crime and other FBI interests.

They are also searching for a company that can develop a monitoring system for this purpose.

Since many of these sites offer their services for free, they often have loose privacy policies and millions of users. It is a great tool for legal internet marketing campaigns by virtue of its ability to reach millions of people.

But it is also a great way to monitor the actions and intentions of others. Lawyers have been able to use information gained on social media in criminal and divorce trials. Now the FBI will also be able to gather information from social media.

The fact that the FBI wants to monitor these sites just shows how powerful they can be, from starting revolutions to effective legal internet marketing
