Tractor-trailer truck slams into charter bus outside Nashville

The driving skills of charter bus driver Leonard Stovall kept the bus out of a ditch and helped numerous drivers escape injury after being struck by a tractor-trailer truck.

According to dnj.com, the accident happened in Murfreesboro, about 30 miles away from the bus’s final destination in Nashville. The bus driver was slowing down as he approached a construction zone on I-24 near mile marker 87. Then all of the sudden a tractor-trailer slammed into the rear of the bus.

Stovall proved that he was skilled driver when he kept the bus steady, steering the bus away from a nearby ditch. The truck was carrying about 38,000 lbs. of frozen foods.

The truck driver and eight bus passengers incurred minor injuries, and were taken to the hospital. Nine passengers were treated by EMTs on the scene.

According to The Atlanta Journal Constitution the tractor-trailer driver sneezed just before the accident.

A truck accident attorney knows this accident could have been much worse and could have caused serious injury or even death to people involved. The truck driver in this incident was not negligent but that isn’t always the case.

Many of these accidents are caused by a driver’s negligence and when a truck accident lawyer is able to prove this they can obtain financial compensation for the victims.

Truck accident attorneys want to make certain their clients don’t have to pay their medical bills out of their pocket when their injury was caused by a careless driver.
