Arizona’s Governor Jan Brewer is no friend of President Obama, which is obvious in new photo circulating the web and news agencies, where she is pictured wagging her finger at him after he landed in the state.
After the photo was captured everyone wanted to know what prompted her chiding of the President. The Washington Post reported that the hostile exchange was over things she wrote in her book about immigration, “Scorpions For Breakfast.” In the book she said that when she met with President Obama in the Oval Office that he was condescending and that “he lectured me.”
Washington aides say that Brewer, who has passed a tough anti-immigration legislation in her state, handed President Obama a letter inviting him to talk about Arizona’s economy and an invitation to tour the border.
Washington aides said the President told Brewer he would be glad to meet with her, but her account in the book was inaccurate.
This was apparently the impetus to begin wagging her finger in the President’s face.
Brewer was one of the first states to pass tough immigration bills, which are being challenged in federal court.
Illegal immigrants face many challenges if they don’t get necessary legal documentation, which can be obtained by an
immigration attorney. Their presence alone can be considered criminal activity and they face deportation. An
immigration lawyer can fight deportation but having legal residency can eliminate this danger.
Illegal immigrants make the tough choice to enter the country without the proper documents or wait until
immigration attorneys are able to get them a visa or citizenship. But the consequences may be a better alternative to staying in their native countries.
