Madonna Badger, the New York ad executive who lost her parents and three daughters in a tragic house fire on Christmas morning, reportedly attempted to commit suicide. An unidentified relative of Badger told New York Daily News the 47-year-old was hospitalized after the attempt and is now “somewhere safe.”
"She is okay...She is out [of the hospital] and somewhere safe. It's just terrible--nobody could really hold up well under the circumstances,” the relative said.
No other details on Badger’s condition were available. Stamford, Connecticut fire officials believe ashes from a Yule log started the fire that engulfed Badger’s $1.7 million house in flames and killed her parents, Lomer and Pauline Johnson, and three daughters, 10-year-old Lily, and 7-year-old twins Grace and Sarah. Badger and family friend Michael Borcina were the only survivors.
