TV news anchor Greg Kelly is facing rape charges by a woman who also
claims she was impregnated as a result of the rape. Greg Kelly is the son of NYPD Commissioner
Ray Kelly. He is also the co-host of Fox
5’s “Good Day New York.”
Kelly is accused of sexually assaulting the woman at her Wall Street-connected
firm on October 8. The two met for the
first time that evening at a bar near the Seaport. When they walked to her office later that
evening, Kelly allegedly assaulted the woman while she was incapacitated. The woman says she was passed out when Kelly
attacked her, but told investigators that she later called Kelly to find out “what
did you do to me?”
Kelly’s lawyers have turned over text messages exchanged between Kelly
and the woman that may prove that the event was in fact consensual.
The victim was described as a “professional person.” According to sources she chose to end her
pregnancy. Following the accusations,
the case was turned over to the Manhattan District Attorney’s office from the
NYPD. This was done to avoid conflicts
created by investigating the police commissioner’s son.
Greg Kelly has not been charged with a crime.
