Son of Joe Paterno, Jay Paterno took the podium during “A Memorial for
Joe.” The memorial was a public service
held in honor of the late Penn State football coach, Joe Paterno. It was held at the Bryce Jordan Center where
it provided emotional words as Penn State ended its last day of mourning for
its head football coach.
Jay began by thanking the public for their support and the staff of Mount Nittany Medical Center where Paterno passed away on Sunday. Paterno died at the age of 85. Jay stated, “Joe Paterno left his world with a clear conscience,” leading to a standing ovation.
Charlie Pittman, Jimmy Cefalo, Todd Blackledge, Chris Marrone, and
Michael Robinson also spoke during the memorial. Each speaker represented a decade in Paterno’s
