NYU professor faces sexual harassment allegations

A NYU administrator alleges that she was denied a promotion after she filed a sexual harassment complaint against James Stuckey who was the dean of the New York University Schack Institute.

The woman, Stephanie Bonadio, was promoted to Director of Corporate and Executive Education. Her lawsuit states that the promotion never went into effect and she requested a meeting with Stuckey to discuss the promotion. The two met at a restaurant, Bonadio alleges during the dinner that Stuckey took her hand and placed it on his erect penis without her consent.

According to the lawsuit, Bonadio reported the incident but found that her position “no longer existed and there was no specific job at NYU into which she could be placed,” according to the New Yorker.

NYU spokesman John Beckman disputes her claim and denies the university would fire any one for reporting sexual harassment. He also stated that Bonadio still has job and is welcome to return to work.

Sexual harassment in universities and colleges are not unusual. A student or staff member who is harassed can address the allegations by hiring a sexual harassment attorney.

Stuckey, who resigned shortly after the incident, has been accused of sexual harassment before.

Sexual harassment lawyers help people address the situation if their work superiors fail to do so. A sexual harassment attorney will make certain that the harassed is compensated of they were abused or retaliated against for reporting the conduct.
