Hostages Taken in Colorado High School Shooting

A man claiming to have explosives has taken five hostages at a Platte Canyon High School in Bailey, Colorado. The school is about 35 miles southwest of Denver, and 30 miles from Littleton, Colorado, the scene where two high school students killed 13 people and then themselves in the worst school shooting in U.S. history.

Spokesman for the Colorado state troopers has confirmed that “It is a hostage situation, an adult is holding the hostages, he claims to have explosives.”

One female hostage has been released hostage, and bomb and SWAT teams are on the scene.

Reports are that the man may be a parent of one of the schools students.
