Demi Moore’s trip to a Los Angeles hospital Monday night came after she smoked an unknown substance that caused her to have convulsions, according to the newly-released tape of the 911 call placed from her Los Angeles home. The female caller, who has not been identified, told the dispatcher that Moore smoked a substance similar to incense.
"She smoked something. It's not marijuana, but it's similar to it. It's similar to incense. She seems to be having convulsions of some sort,” the caller says.
“She's semi-conscious, barely. She's convulsing. She's shaking, convulsing, burning up,” the woman adds.
An unidentified man then gives directions to Moore’s house.
After the actress’s hospitalization, her rep released a statement saying she is entering treatment to improve her “overall health.” “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends,” the rep said.
The 49-year-old’s health problems come two months after she announced her split from her husband of 6 years, Ashton Kutcher. "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life,” she said at the time. “This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation."
