Entrepreneurial immigrants can drive job growth

The economy, taxes and immigration are hot topics on the campaign trail and in Washington. A new joint report by The U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Immigration Policy Center has shown that immigrant entrepreneurs can help spur economic growth.

Their report indicates that there needs to serious immigration reform to help encourage immigrants to invest in new businesses. The IPC argues that when new immigrant workers and consumers enter a community, businesses must create new jobs to meet growth demands. Current immigration laws make it difficult for immigrants to start new businesses.

A report release by the Partnership for a New American Economy showed that 18 percent of the Fortune 500 companies were started by immigrants.

Immigration lawyers can get a visa for the hopeful immigrant but the terms can be restrictive and difficult to renew. Changing the visa system often gets lost in the immigration debate.

Although the United Sates has one of the most liberal immigration policies, legal residency can be difficult to obtain even an individual enlists the help of an immigration attorney. This is discouraging to any foreign-born person who may want to build a new business.

No matter which side of the immigration issue a person stand there is a general consensus that the system is in dire need of an overhaul. Immigration attorneys are currently the best allies immigrants have and should seek out their help if they want to start a business.
