Imperial Beach, CA- A 44 year-old man who has been charged with DUI three times in the past five days has pleaded not guilty to his latest charge.
Davis Lakarnafeaux was arrested early Sunday morning after police responded to a report of drunken driving on Seacoast Drive. A business owner alerted police after Lakarnafeaux attempted to buy beer and appeared to be intoxicated. Prosecutors stated that his blood alcohol level was .14 at the time of his arrest.
When police checked his record they discovered that Lakarnafeaux was arrested twice for DUI over the past five days. On January 17th he was arrested after he ran into another car at a gas station in San Diego.
Lakarnafeaux was arrested again after he was stopped by Customs and Border patrol just two days after the San Diego incident. A field sobriety test administered by the California Highway Patrol showed that his blood alcohol content was .18.
Anyone in Lakarnafeux’s position can greatly benefit from the representation of an experienced DUI attorney. When a person has a DUI lawyer they may be able to keep their driving privileges and ask for some leniency if the offender agrees to rehab.
The fines and penalties for one DUI can be stiff, but multiple DUI arrests can land a person in jail. A DUI lawyer may be able to prevent incarceration.
