FedEx tractor trailer takes out utility poles

Farmington CT- A FedEx tractor trailer brought down a utility pole on Wyndwood Rd just after 4pm on Wednesday afternoon leaving a few hundred residents without power.

According to police, the truck got stuck in the power lines which crossed the road, and pulled on the pole snapping it in two.

When police arrived, the pole was sitting on top of the truck preventing the driver from exiting his vehicle. Connecticut Light and Power had to turn off power to the lines so that the driver could get out of the cab of the truck.

The truck accident shut off power to hundreds of residents. Police had to shut down traffic in the area. It took crews close to 12 hours to clean up the wires.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
