Texas woman files mesothelioma lawsuit after he father’s death

The daughter of a recently deceased man has filed a mesothelioma lawsuit against several companies she claims are responsible for exposing him to asbestos and causing the disease which took his life.

Claudia Harper filed her lawsuit January 18th in Jefferson County District County District Court. The companies named in the suit are Sabine Towing and Transportation Co., Chromaly American, Sequa Corp., Kirby Corp., Kirby Inland Marine, and ExxonMobil Corp, according to the Southeast Texas Record.

Harper alleges that her father James Wesley Clark Jr. worked as a seaman for Sabine from 1942 until 1973, during that time he was exposed to asbestos.

Harper says that the companies named in the lawsuit negligently designed vessels made of asbestos and failed to design the vessels in a way that would protect her father from exposure to the hazardous material.

Asbestos is a known human carcinogen which causes a range of lung diseases including mesothelioma and asbestos. With the help of a mesothelioma attorney the victims of this disease can obtain financial compensation from the companies responsible for their exposure.

Harper is seeking compensation for burial costs. The experience of a mesothelioma attorney is indispensable when filing asbestos related lawsuits.

Asbestos is a dangerous material and after years of exposure a person can contract detrimental diseases. Mesothelioma lawyers work on the behalf of these victims so that they may obtain the funds needed for medical care.
