Last week, Google announced changes to its privacy policy that will no doubt get the ire of some users and make others involved in legal internet marketing pleased.
The new privacy policy is more streamlined than the previous policy. Under the new policy people who are logged into any of their Google accounts whether it is search, email, Google + or YouTube will get results based on their activity on all of Google’s platforms. All users’ activity will be tracked and assessed to show relevant results. For example posts on Google+ will inform results for searches.
This will be helpful to legal internet marketing firms and SEO providers who will be able to better tailor content to the their target audience.
Google users will be encouraged to join Google+ when they sign up for other Google products.
Some users were upset about this data sharing and threatened to close their Google accounts. But this is similar to the privacy policy employed by Facebook and this hasn’t stopped their meteoric rise. Facebook doesn’t share data with Google.
Google also announced they would make changes to Panda, their search algorithm and some pages may see their pages drop in search. All in all Google plans to make close to 500 changes to search algorithms in 2012.
Legal internet marketing company Digital Age Marketing will keep abreast of the changes to make certain their clients’ pages stay in prominent positions in search.
