Last year Jennifer Lopez announced she and husband of seven years Marc Anthony were headed to divorce attorneys to dissolve their nuptials. Yesterday she appeared on the “Today Show” and” David Letterman” to promote a new reality talent show she co-hosts with her soon to be ex.
The divorce filing stated irreconcilable differences and David Letterman pushed her for details on his show Monday night. Lopez told Letterman that communication was one of their biggest issues. Her hand gestures indicated that there were conflicts between the two when it came to communication.
Her interview went smoother with Letterman than Today Show’s Matt Lauer who pressed her over the divorce issue. Jennifer reminded Lauer that she said all she wanted to say about the divorce in her interview with Vanity Fair and wasn’t too pleased that the subject came up. She said, “Matt I want to kill you,” when he began quoting from the magazine.
Both Lopez and Anthony are now seeing other people.
Anthony was Lopez’s third husband. Statistics show that second and third marriages are ended by divorce lawyers at a higher rate than first marriages. Lopez also stated that she wasn’t sure if she would remarry.
Anthony and Lopez have numerous assets and children to consider in their divorce. It will take time for their divorce attorneys to work out the settlements and child custody. But the couple will continue to work on their new show together despite their communication clashes.
