One man killed in Maryland truck accident

Hagerstown, MD – An accident involving a tractor trailer and four other passenger vehicles resulted in the death of one man Monday afternoon.

The tractor trailer was traveling southbound on Interstate 81 when crossed over into the northbound lanes and struck the vehicle driven by Larry Corbin, 42. Corbin’s vehicle went over an embankment under the tractor trailer.

Two other vehicles were involved in the accident. One man, Mark Siegrist rear-ended the tractor trailer and sustained front end damage to his truck but was not injured. Authorities are unclear how to the fourth vehicle was involved in the crash.

The tractor trailer driver and his wife who was a passenger were taken to the hospital with injuries that were not major.

One witness said the tractor trailer was driving erratically. Police are trying to determine why the driver crossed the center line into the north bound lanes.

The northbound lanes of Interstate 81 were closed for hours while crews cleaned up the scene.

Distraction and exhaustion are two very common causes of truck accidents. Once negligence is determined a truck accident attorney can be retained to seek compensation from the negligent parties.

The victims of truck accidents will accumulate costly medical bills and may even lose wages as a result of their injuries. A truck accident lawyer will make certain these victims don’t have to pay for these costs out of their pockets. When you have a truck accident attorney working on your case you can be assured that there will be a favorable outcome.
