Leslie Carter, the sister of singers Nick and Aaron Carter, died this week in upstate New York. According to reports, the 25-year-old aspiring singer passed away on Tuesday. No other details, including the cause of death, have been released. Leslie was married in 2008 and has a 10-month-old daughter, Alyssa Jane.
"Our family is grieving right now and it's a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter. We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time,” the Carter family said in a statement.
Leslie recorded a debut album in the late 90s, but the record was never released. Her song “Like Wow!” was featured on the soundtrack for the 2001 animated film Shrek. She appeared alongside Nick, Aaron and her two sisters on the E! reality show House of Carters in 2006.
Nick is best known for being a member of the pop group Backstreet Boys. Aaron released four studio albums and has made numerous guest appearances on TV shows like Lizzie McGuire and 7th Heaven.
