Shortly after news of his sister’s death hit the internet Wednesday, Nick Carter announced he will continue touring as planned. In a statement released through his publicist, Carter said no tour dates will be canceled and his remaining performances will be dedicated to his sister, Leslie Carter. His next performance is on Thursday at the Irving Plaza in New York.
"Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform," Carter said.
Leslie passed away Tuesday in upstate New York at the age of 25. No other details, including the cause of death, have been released. Leslie, an aspiring singer whose song “Like Wow!” appeared on the 2001 soundtrack for Shrek, was married in 2008 and has a 10-month-old daughter.
The Carter family released a statement on her death saying, "Our family is grieving right now and it's a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter. We request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.”
