A three car accident on Freeway 405, just north of Santa
Monica Boulevard resulted in the death of one woman.
The accident occurred around 8 pm Tuesday evening and backed
up traffic for miles. A red Volvo, a silver sedan and a SUV were involved in
the crash. The SUV had its hood crunched in and was pushed several yards away
from the accident scene.
When California Highway patrol arrived six minutes after
receiving the, call they found one woman dead in her vehicle. The woman was
described as a 56 year old black woman but her identity had not been released
pending notification of the family.
No other injuries were reported but all vehicles involved
sustained serious damage.
California Highway Patrol is currently investigating to
determine the cause of the accident.
