Several children injured when school bus and semi-truck collide

Several students were injured Tuesday afternoon when a semi-truck hit their school bus head on.

A Mt. District School Bus was stopped on Farmington Falls Rd. when the accident occurred. Five of the students had to be taken to the hospital. Most of the injuries were bruises, abrasion and cuts on the lip.

According to eyewitness report the bus stopped to let off a student. The bus driver had the warning lights on. The driver of a pickup truck, who was stopped in the eastbound lane, noticed a semi-truck approaching from behind, which seemed unable to stop. The semi-truck driver attempted to go around the passenger truck to avoid a collision, but hit the school bus head on. The impact pushed the bus 30ft.

Police determined the semi-truck was only traveling at 25 mph in a 45 mph zone. He was unable to stop because of icy road conditions and will not be charged.

The people in this accident were fortunate and did not suffer any serious injuries. Truck accident attorneys are aware of how seriously a person can be injured when involved in a semi-truck accident.

A person who has accumulated costly medical bills can hire a truck accident lawyer to seek compensation from a driver if their negligence caused them injury. When a truck accident attorney is working on a case their victims can feel confident they will receive a favorable settlement.
