Lauren Scruggs’ road to recovery continued this week with a special step – the model and fashion blogger got a prosthetic eye. The process lasted “all day,” according to mom Cheryl Scruggs, but it was well worth the wait.
“The ocularist carefully painted and shaped the new eye," Cheryl wrote on Lauren’s Caring Bridge website.
“It is beautiful,” she added. “Thank you God for providing."
Up next for Lauren, 23, is a prosthetic arm. "We again met with the arm people this week," Cheryl wrote. "Again, another step. bittersweet......
Scruggs suffered severe injuries to the upper left side of her body when she accidentally walked into a spinning airplane propeller at a private airport near Dallas on December 3. Doctors removed her left hand and left eye.
