Oscar G Mayer, Chairman of Oscar Mayer Foods, Dies at 95

Oscar Mayer, retired chairman of Oscar Mayer Foods, has died. Mayer died of old age Monday at Hospice Care in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. He was 95.

Mayer’s family started the business in 1883. He is the third Oscar Mayer in the family. Mayer retired as chairman of the board in 1977. The company was later sold to General Foods and is now a part of Kraft Foods.

Mayer is survived by his second wife, Geraldine.
