The former center field Lenny Dykstra for the New York Mets and Philadelphia Phillies has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection according to court records. Lenny Dyskstra who is 46 has no more than $50,000 in assets and between $10 million and $50 million in liabilities. This information came from a petition filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Central District of California. Dykstra’s faces twenty lawsuits that are tied to his various participation in financial entrepreneur activities such as The Players Club, and launching a magazine.
Lenny Dykstra is best known for winning a World Series with the Mets in 1986. He played for twelve years with the Mets and Phillies. He had a batting average of .285 and 81 home runs before retiring in 1996.
