After the New England Patriots’ second Super Bowl loss to the New York Giants on Sunday, Tom Brady’s wife Gisele Bundchen was caught putting the blame on his teammates.
The supermodel was leaving the Lucas Oil Stadium suites when Giants fans started taunting her about Brady’s performance. Bundchen initially laughed off their comments, but she reached her breaking point as she waited for an elevator. She defended Brady and slammed Patriots receivers who failed to catch passes. Bundchen’s angry comments were caught on tape.
"You (have) to catch the ball when you're supposed to catch the ball. My husband cannot [expletive] throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times,” she snapped.
The Patriots lost to Eli Manning and the Giants 21-17. Last week, a private e-mail from Bundchen to close friends and family was leaked. The former Victoria’s Secret model asked for their “positive energy” and prayers for Brady during the Super Bowl.
"My sweet friends and family. This sunday will be a really important day in my husband's life. He and his team worked so hard to get to this point and now they need us more than ever to send them positive energy so they can fulfill their dream of winning this super bowl...” she wrote. "So I kindly ask all of you to join me on this positive chain and pray for him, so he can feel confident, healthy and strong. Envision him happy and fulfilled experiencing with his team a victory this sunday.”
Bundchen, 31, and Brady, 34, were married in February 2009 and welcomed their first child, son Benjamin, in December 2009.
