Chicago, IL- The only survivor of a fatal fiery crash in the early hours of Monday spoke to NBC Chicago, telling reporters that his friend had a death wish and taunted his passengers just moments before the accident.
Gustvo Vargas told his friends “Get ready to die,” before he made a U-turn and began traveling the wrong way down Interstate 80, according to MSNBC. Eduardo Rodriguez, the sole survivor told reporters that he and his friends begged Vargas to stop.
But Vargas refused and crashed into a Ford wagon head-on. Both the vehicles were engulfed on flames. Luckily, for Rodriguez state troopers pulled him out of the vehicle before it caught on fire.
Vargas and two of his passengers Jorge Pina and Armanda Ruiz were killed. The driver of the Ford, Jason Wepsiec, was on his way to see his fiancé when the crash happened and died on his way to the hospital, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Rodriguez told police he and his friends had just watched the Super Bowl at a bar and then a strip club.
This incident like many traffic accidents was a tragedy. Accident attorneys can make certain that the victims of traffic collisions receive the funds they need to cover their medical costs.
Once an accident lawyer is able to assign fault they can file a civil lawsuit on the behalf of the victims or the families of the deceased. When an accident attorney is working on a case the injured can be assured they will win a favorable settlement.
