NASCAR wants to ban Jeremy Mayfield from Racing

NASCAR memorabilia

On Wednesday July 8, 2009 NASCAR asked the court for an appeal.  They would like to ban Jeremy Mayfield from racing because of his alleged use of methamphetamine.  They believe that use of this drug can cause fatal consequences for fans and competitors.

NASCAR is adamant about convincing the 4th U.S. Circuit Court of appeals to overturn U.S. District Court Judge Graham Mullen decision last week to lift Mayfield’s suspension.  Mayfield attorney John Buric believes his client is not a danger.   There have been reports that stated he has already been tested positive for use of the drug.  Mayfield is still denying that he has used this drug.  This situation is still in the hands of the court system.  We will have to wait for a final decision.
