Katy Perry and Russell Brand are parting ways peacefully. In court documents filed this week in Los Angeles Superior Court, the exes waived their right to a trial and said they have come to a private agreement on the division of their properties.
"The parties have entered into a comprehensive written settlement of all issues, including, without limitation, with respect to the property to be confirmed or assigned to each party,” the documents state.
Brand will receive no spousal support from Perry, although under California law he is entitled to half of the money she earned during their 1 year marriage since they do not have a pre-nuptial agreement. Perry is estimated to be worth $70 million while Brand is said to be worth $20 million. Perry, 27, also requested that her name be changed back to Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson.
Brand filed for divorce in December, 2 months after their 1 year wedding anniversary. He cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split. “Sadly, Katy and I are ending out marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends,” he said at the time.
