Celtic-themed sports bar in Chicago slapped with sexual harassment lawsuit

Nineteen female servers from the Twisted Kilt on Wabash Ave. filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the restaurant on Wednesday, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Servers at the Celtic-themed sports bar are known for their skimpy clothing but that doesn’t mean they have to tolerate hostile behavior. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission gave the plaintiffs permission to sue. A sexual harassment attorney can seek compensation on behalf of the women.

The women allege that one of the restaurant managers and one owner repeatedly subjected them to sexual harassment that was pervasive. The women endured unwanted touching, sexually hostile and degrading behavior on the part of their supervisors.

The lawsuit lists 30 different examples of sexual harassment. In one incident one of the accused took a straw full of water and poured it down one woman’s skirt saying he “wanted to make her panties wet,” according to the Chicago Tribune.

In addition to the sexual harassment complaint the plaintiffs are alleging that they were retaliated against for reporting the harassment by being given poor and reduced shifts.

Workplace harassment can often go unaddressed and the victims look to sexual harassment lawyers to intervene when their supervisors fail to. Sexual harassment attorneys work to end harassment and make certain the victims are awarded a fair settlement for their emotional duress.
