2012 Creative Storage Conference Announces Fox Networks Keynote Talk and Initial Sponsors
The 2012 Creative Storage Conference (CS 2012) will feature Clyde Smith, Sr. VP of New Technologies at Fox Networks, giving a keynote talk. In addition several media and organization sponsors have signed up for this premier event focusing on digital storage in media and entertainment.
The Sixth Annual Creative Storage Conference (CS12) will be held Tuesday June 26, 2012 at the DoubleTree Hotel West Los Angeles in Culver City, CA (www.creativestorage.org). This event brings together digital storage providers, equipment and software manufacturers and professional media and entertainment end users to explore the conference theme of Digital Storage Enables Universal and Ubiquitous Workflows. At CS 2012 you can find out the latest developments in digital storage for media and entertainment and network with industry professionals.
Clyde Smith’s keynote presentation on Digital Storage and Object Based Media Workflows abstract follows: The visionaries working on the Material eXchange Format (MXF) standard foresaw the need for more complex operational patterns. With the exponential increase in methods and types of media distribution the complexity in today’s workflows needs to be simplified to achieve practical interoperability. Industry Initiatives such as the Advanced Media Workflow Association's AS-02 and the ETC/SMPTE's IMF are redefining how the entertainment industry can rapidly evolve it's processes to meet quickly evolving marketplace demands. Media workflows producing content as a compilation of objects are quickly being adopted. This presentation will address how, why and what it could mean for storage implementations.
