Lincoln County, MO- An accident early Monday morning on icy roads has caused the death of a Missouri woman.
Missouri Highway patrol stated that Amanda Moon, 44, was traveling northbound on Missouri 79 around 8 am when she was hit head on by another driver. The roadway was covered in snow at the time.
The driver of the second car Tricia Sigler, 30, lost control while heading southbound on the icy road. While out of control Sigler’ vehicle crossed over the center line and crashed head on into Moon’s vehicle.
Moon died on the scene as a result of her injuries. Sigler sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The highway patrol stated that both women were wearing their safety belts at the time of the accident.
Police have not stated if Sigler will be cited.
Traveling on icy and snow covered roads takes special care on the part of drivers. In those conditions it takes only a moment for an accident to happen and forever change a person’s life. If fault has been assigned in an incident, an accident lawyer can seek financial compensation from the negligent party on behalf of the victim.
Accident attorneys realize that injury victims face medical expenses and lost wages and will make certain they can recover some of these financial losses. With an accident attorney fighting by a victim’s side, the injured can get a sense of justice and the assurance that none of their medical bills will have to come out of their pockets.
